There is a great amount of history not only to the cellar door facility, but also the history behind each label. Many of Marienberg's true followers have been sampling these wines since the late 1960's and remember Ursula and her unique style when the cellar door was operated out of the Blacks Road Cellar Door at Flagstaff Hill and each bottle sported a impression of Ursula's face - this wine then became easily recognized not only within South Australia, but also on a national level.
It was in 1991 when the wine label was sold and was relocated to McLaren Vale and took up prime position on the corner of Main and Chalk Hill Roads. Marienberg Wines offers a great selection of easy drinking wines through to super premium wines that can only be described as contemporary, elegant and truly McLaren Vale. The Cottage Classic Range offers Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon, Unwooded Chardonnay, Late Picked Riesling, Shiraz & Cabernet/Merlot - all of which are produced to be consumed young.
The Marienberg Reserve Range is truly all that McLaren Vale has to offer, this range encompasses a Sparkling, Chardonnay, Shiraz and a Tawny Port - exceptional wines offered with a realistic price tag. Marienberg also offers a super premium range, The Ivyburn Chardonnay and The Clifton Cabernet Sauvignon - both wines are produced in limited quantities and derive their names from historical local land marks near the Marienberg Cottage.
